Welcome friends. Whole Soul Consulting is here to support your journey of ordination in the United Methodist Church. Given the increasingly strenuous ordination process that has been created, we are losing some of the most gifted and graced candidates. If you are struggling with the process, this is the place for you.
What is your calling, how does it correlate with your sacramentology, and how does your ecclesiology match with your eschatology? And what’s your favorite hymn and why? Can’t quite get a handle on all that paperwork or in a panic about Committee and Board interviews? Struggling to build collegial relationships with people who hold your future in their hands? We work with all these situations and many more to help you not only survive but thrive in the ordination process.
As the pastor of a small church in Denver, CO, I began spending time with candidates for ordination at Iliff School of Theology, hearing their stories and providing them counsel and spiritual care. And they began sending their friends. I personally found the ordination process to be lonely, but I thought I was in the minority. I was not. Candidates need allies and coaches to help them through.
Whole Soul was started as a Charitable Corporation (similar to a non-profit but without all the paperwork) in 2014 and in 2016 we’ve gone fancy with a web page and this reformatted blog and a board of directors and a few other formalities to help us increase the effectiveness of our mission.
This blog has stories from my ministry, sermon starters, tips on the ordination process and local church ministry, resources, and general theological thoughts. If you find yourselves in need of our services, send a message through the webpage at www.wholesoulconsulting.org or call us at 970-449-9088.
Blessings on your journey,
Rev. Jessica Boyce and all of us at WSC
